The following rules have been rewritten on 27th September 2010 to fit the new gameplay:
Q: How do we join/start playing this game? A: Here are few steps you need to do:
1.) Watch Yayland & join the group as Member.
You can unwatch yaypets if you want, that will be fine since the group account is actually where we will play our games. Our members will submit their pet arts and challenge entries there. yaypets is only used to keep the main rules, facts and reference arts on its journals.
2.) Choose 1 of any level 1a animal species that you like from this list: yaypets.deviantart.com/journal… and draw it yourself based on its reference and description. You can give it any patterns and any color combinations that you like.
3.) Upload the art to your DA gallery (NO SCRAP FOLDER!) and write its name as your deviation title please.
4.) Please submit it to our group's gallery.
5.) Congratulation! You are now a legal hunter in Yayland! You and your pets are officially registered here: yayland.deviantart.com/blog/35…
6.) Note: The arts submitted to our group will need approvals of emmil and Shin-Senpuu We have the right to reject the submission if it fails to follow the guideline of our animal species. You can only use your personal DA account to register yourself, not a group/club account.
Q: Do we need to pay to play this game?A: No.
Q: Can we draw it our pet from different angle, view, style with various mediums?A: You can draw it with manga style, american hero style, realistic style... etc, just make sure it's not abstract or cubism...
The point is we still can see, for example, a Hamchoochoo as a Hamchoochoo, not just a hamster art. For the submissions, you can draw it from 3/4 front view only. However, when you draw it as fanarts, you may draw it from different other views. You can draw it traditionally or digitally, but photo manipulation is definitely not allowed.
Q: Can we give our pets names...?A: Sure. But keep in mind whether you name it Marry or John, our animals don't actually have any genders. How they breed still remains a big secret for all hunters, except the guild chief.
Q: What is a challenge?A: We'll throw a bi-weekly challenge which will be announced every 15th and 30th of each month on our group blog. The challenge itself can be a various thing to do that require you to draw, write or anything else that I think will be fun, and they will be based on Yay World. The entries will be judged from the concept & ideas, not technical skill and we'll have 1 winner for every 10 entries in a challenge. So everyone has quite a big chance to win!
By winning a challenge, you'll win the privilege to either add 1 body part or 1 accessory to your pet. So our goal today is not winning a tournament but getting our pets look as amazing as we can. Once you have won a challenge, you can redraw or add new accessory or body part to your current pet pic.
Important! --> Only those who have become hunters, not just members, can participate the challenge.
On another note, once in a year - for Christmas / New Year gift, I'll pick the best pet design to be recreated in my semi realism style painting. The pets that qualify to be picked are the ones that have won at least 3 stars. However, I make an exception for this year Christmas... every has a chance to win regardless of the stars they have collected!
Q: Can I remove a default body part of an animal?A: Yes, if you have won a challenge and only 1 body part per animal. For example, you can remove a Meowa's bat wings, but you can't remove its water tail, or the other way around.
Q: Is cloth considered as accessory too?A: Yes, but hat, belt, brooch, etc, are considered as different items that must be won from another challenge.
Q: What are the star icons next to our pet name on the member list blog?A: When you first register as a hunter, you'll get 5 dark/empty star icons put next to your pet on the member list blog. They are slots of champion stars that you can get from winning a challenge.
Every time your current pet has won 5 stars, you can get yourself a new pet to improve/decorate again. The second species that you can choose can be ether be a half higher level new species of the same rank with your first pet, or you can choose any of level 1a animal again. For example: To get a Gerund, you must have a five star Aroro. To get a Draga, you must have a five star Gerund.
Q: Can we give away stars or pets to other hunters?A: Nope! You can't give away stars to people. The goal of this game is decorating each pet you have with 5 kind of additional body parts and/mixed/or with accessories. Once one is done, you can move forward to decorate the next pet of higher level with the same rank, or the same level but from different species or rank.
Q: I haven't won any challenges but I'm bored with my current pet's marking or color, can I change the marking or the color alone anytime I want?A: It's okie as long as you don't add any body parts or accessories though. You can replace your pet drawings anytime you want as long as they don't go beyond the limit of what their stars allow them to. I will only check the balance of the total number of the additional body parts/accessories with the total number of the star a pet has. So if you have won a challenge and get 1 star for your Aroro, for example, and you have used it to add dove wings and a week later you have a change of heart and like to change the dove wings with bat wings, or remove the wings and give it a pair of horns or a bracelet. It's still okie.
Q: Can we get a legendary creature?A: Nope. They will act as NPCs from now on.
Q: What about the Vapos? Do we still need to decide whether we want to be a Valca or a Poapoa?A: Not anymore. But the fact that there are only 2 vapos live in the land is still the general truth for this world.
Q: What are the conditions to affiliate?1.) Must be a 1 month old account or more.
2.) Must have at least 50 watchers.
3.) Must watch & become a member of our group account: Yayland If you're a group, please watch us from your main account.
4.) If you submit a NEW journal about YAY!PETS, we'll do the same thing for you.
5.) Please send us a note from your game account. Thanks.Q: Can I use one of your pictures as a base to make my own pet/avatar game?A: No, all artworks here are © emmil -->
emmilQ:Can I do fanart of these pets?A: Yes, you can, but plz give us a credit & link back to this account.
Q: Can I show off my pet that I draw on other website as a banner or an avatar?A: Yes.
Q: How can someone get banned here??A: For spamming with links to their galleries/adoptables on their comments (signatures are okie though), or harassing admins with nasty words, for registering with double accounts.
